End Of Spring Break 2009

Well our full week of Spring Break is over. It's been a lazy week and its been nice. It started out on Monday with basic grocery shopping and laundry. Monday night Britt's friend Meghan spent the night. On Tuesday I had to take Carter in for an eye appointment for new glasses. Tuesday night Britt stayed at another friends house. Wednesday was a really lazy day with a family nap. Then we watched a movie! Thursday Britt had a doctors appoinment for her wrist. She got the brace off! That night we went to some friends house for pizza and pictionary. It was so fun! Friday I took the kids swimming.

That night Dave and I went to eat at the temple and did a session. Saturday was cleaning day. Then Dave and I went to the cannery! We bought 18 cans of food storage! Then Dave got busy with a little surprise for me! What a Sweetie!

My laundry room/closet is under the stairs. Its not finished and ugly white. Dave asked me what I wanted to do with the laundry room and I said paint it bright and cheery yellow! I picked a color and he spent the day priming and painting the walls!

Well its painted. I need to wait for it to completely dry and then I am going to hang up some black vinyl words! Yahoo I am so excited! Dave and the kids think its a little to bright but I think it will keep me wide awake when I am ironing! What do you think. Ugly white or bright yellow? Vote now! I will post pictures when I have my words up! Tonight I got ready for my lesson on Sunday! Tomorrow we will go to church and then have a quiet family day and then Monday it is back to school! Its been a nice break!

Girl Scout Cookies and Pinewood Derby

We have been really busy this week and it all involes some sort of scouting! First... Brittnee is finishing up her first year of selling cookies. Thanks to Aunt Pam she sold a ton. Britt and I spent Tuesday night seperating all the orders and getting them ready to deliver. We had cookies everywhere. We are heading to Utah tomorrow to deliver. I will be so happy to have these cookies out of the way. However Dave says "at least my treadmill is getting some use" Hahaha.

Second...Carter had his first Pinewood Derby this week. Dave had fun carving out the car. Both Dave and Carter painted and decorated the car. It turned out great!

It is decorated kinda after Tony Stewarts #14 Office Depot car! They both worked really hard on it! Carter was so excited to race and wanted to win. I kept telling him that it was about having fun and not winning. Dave smilied at that one!

Here is my handsome Carter in his scout shirt and finished car!

Here is Carter checking out the finish line!

Well the car finished the race after the tires fell off a few times and Dave having to take weights off the bottom and put them on top. Carter didn't win as many races as he wanted to. He did get a gold medal and the "Survivor Award". He was pretty happy. Dave, Carter, and Spencer are all looking forward to next years race.
Well its been a long week for me. With time change, full moon, and Friday the 13th all I can say is that my class was a little nuts and I am so glad the week is over! I can't wait til next week when I will be at the Scrapbook Expo and anxiously awaiting midnight to buy my "Twilight" dvd!

I've had my Moments!

Okay so I was listening to my wonderful IPOD that my wonderful husband gave me and a song came on. Its a song I know and love. I have listened to it many many times. Its kind of a sad song but it has a wonderful message. The song is "I've Had My Moments" by Emerson Road. Its a song about a guy who is having a rough time and he goes for a long walk. He meets up with a homeless man. I wont tell you the whole song/story..I want you to experience it for yourself. Anyway my point is, it talks about the MOMENTS the guy has had in his life. The moments that were his day in the sun, the MOMENTS that he thought he wouldn't make it through, but he did. I have been thinking a lot about this and decided I would recognize my own MOMENTS!

* The day my dad died I thought I would never live through it....its been 20 years.

* The times I miscarried and wanted a baby so bad it hurt. I thought I would never have a baby...now I have 3 beautiful babies.

*The rough spot in my marriage...We made it and now we are stronger because of it.

I know as I think back at these moments that I was not alone. I know that My Heavenly Father was there. He had prepared me to go through these times in my life. He knew I would make it. No matter what. Even though they were hard at the time, I wouldn't change any of them. These moments have made me what I am today. I know everyone has them and if you care to share I would love to hear about them.

Love to All!

Random Things

So I have been waiting for something fun to happen so I could blog about. Nothing has happened so far. So I decided to write Random things.

#1 Britt and Car went outside to play the other day. We were having a typical cold windy Idaho Day. I was playing on facebook, Dave and Spence were watching tv. Next thing we know the door blows open and this is what walked in.

The kids came in and said they were Zombies! It was so funny! I guess it had gotten so cold that they turned thier coats around and covered thier faces, then put on thier jackets to cover thier heads! Random? Hahaha

#2 I went to Parent Teacher conference today and all the kids got great reports. They have a new reading goal set. I promised the teachers they would make thier goals early instead of waiting on the last day to take tests! I am so proud of the kids for working hard! No they arent staight A report cards, but to me they are geniuses!

#3 We got our girl scout cookies this week. We are doing really good not to scarf them down. We enjoyed a box of Samoas! They are our all time favorite. We tried the dul leche kind. I like them but I am the only one. I only ordered 6 boxes of Samoes...that is so not enough. Why is it that girl scout cookies are only 1 time a year. Good thing for freezers.

#4 Dave is a huge "Idol" fan. Since we share the same room I am subject to hearing and occassionally glanicing at the tv. Let me just say I am so glad that Megan from Utah got called back! She is a doll! I am so glad that ummm the blind guy got to make the 12, and last I am so HAPPY that Tatiana got knocked off. She is whiny and annoying and I think that I can tolerate the show better now she is gone.

#5 LOST!!! I love Lost! I am so mad that we have to wait so long for the season and then it is a short season. I am mad that next week is a repeat show. I get so frustrated with the story sometimes. Every week Dave says he is done watching it because it changes and you think you have something figured out and you really havent. He is still watching. We are wondering about the whole Sawyer/Juliette/Kate thing is gonna work out. Dave wants Jack with Juliette and Sawyer with Kate? I keep tottering back and forth. I miss Charlie. Why oh why did Charlie have to die. :( Lovin my LOST!

#6 I do not like diets or scales or exercise...I am in a bind. I need to lose some extra "baby" weight and I cannot do it. I love my cookies and Mtn dew. I have heard of this new water that is susposed to help you lose weight and get healthier. Some ladies at work drink it and they swear by it. I have decided to try it. I will let you know if it is miracle water. In the mean time I need to get motivated to exercise more and eat junk less. Ugh.

Okay so those are my random Friday thoughts. I guess my brain is more overloaded than I thought. I feel better now. Okay I need to really get some things done so TTFN.
