Poor Spencer had a rough evening on Wednesday. He was outside playing while Dad was mowing the lawn. I was inside the house working when all of the sudden I heard Spencer scream and then start crying. I was going to see what happened when Dave started banging on the door. I opened it and Spencers head is covered in blood. Dave ran to get paper towels while I tried to calm Spencer and catch the blood that was rapidly spewing from his head. Dave comes back with the paper towels and we start to clean Spencer up. The poor boy is shaking like crazy and keeps saying "I wish I didnt fall." We got the wound cleaned up a little and it looked bad but we didnt think it was bad enough for stitches cuz it had stopped bleeding. I was worried about Tetnus cuz Spencer had fallen behind the shed where a bunch of old brances and wood and who knows what is stored. I call the Pediatrician and they were open until 8 pm. So I put Spence in the van and off we go to Ped. to make sure he doesnt need a shot. We get to office and they take him in. They clean the "owie" which makes Spence scream. It starts oozing and oozing lots. The Dr. says he is going to need a few and does a stapler movement, unknown to Spencer of course. The nurse goes and gets a cream that will numb the "owie" and we wait for about 15 mins. The Dr. comes in and tells Spence to lay down while she cleans off the cream. She cleans it the proceeds to put in 2 staples. Well Spencer felt a little pinching but thats it. Unfortunately she got the staples in to far apart and had to clip them out. Spencer is now getting mad and asking what the clipping noise is in his head. The Dr and I say Um its nothing. The Dr let puts in 3 fast staples and says ok all done. Spencer sits up. We show him the clipped staples and he doesnt get it. So I nicely proceed to tell him that he has staples in his head. He didnt believe me, so I took a picture with my phone and showed him. He was amazed. Then the poor kid started dripping blood again so the Dr put on some gauze and a cool head band.
The Numbing Cream
See the staples All the while this is happening my phone is going nuts with texts and phone calls from Dad and Britt wondering what is going on. Britt leaves me a crying message about her poor baby that she loves so much and please call me.... She is so tenderhearted. So Spence and I check out of the Dr's office luckily without any shots and head to Little Ceasars to pick up dinner. Everyone stares at the little dirty boy covered in blood and wearing his headband :) We then go home where Spence is greeted by a frantic sister. He like the attention for about 2 seconds and then he is mad that everyone keeps looking at his head and asking if he is ok. He is not my attention seeker at all. He did ok that night. I let him sleep with me. He slept fine but from what Dave said I kept "SShhh Spence its ok" all night even though Spencer never made a sound. Ohhhh, I worry in my sleep! Spence went to school the next day. After about 2 hours he calls home. Dad goes and gets him. He was feeling pain and a little dizzy. After some tylenol Spencer is feeilng great and wants to play. Dad promptly took him back to school! He has been doing great. He is a little weary about playing. He keeps saying "I dont want to fall and crack my head more." But he is so happy that baths/showers have to be fast and no head washing until Tuesday!
Other than that we have had a normal crazy week. I am frantically trying to finish up some scrapbooks for my students. I also have to do 2 posters for church as well as my other daily grind things. I am a busy girl!
Until next post....loves and hugs to all!

Wow! Glad he's okay! Wednesday was NOT a good night for 7-yr old little boys was it? Jor got a shiner when he slipped on the slide. I need to post pics. His cut was on his eyelid.
